Privateer Festival in Baltimore

Last weekend we went to the Fells Point Privateer Festival in Baltimore.  We realized after hours of picture taking that we had forgot to put the memory card in our camera.  :(  Thankfully Jaiden had been taking pictures of his own with his camera.

The first thing we did was hop on the Fearless and do a harbor tour.

This tour is definitely geared more towards younger kids.  Even Jaiden enjoyed using the water cannons to shoot the pirates that were trying to board the ship.

When the tour ended we headed over to B.O.P.  Which is stands for Brick Oven Pizza.  It's about a block north of Thames St. on Broadway.  Apparently a favorite restaurant on the show Diners, Dives & Drive Ins.

This was right after we realized we forgot our memory card all morning.  :(  We ordered the Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza which was amazing.  We will definitely come back here next time we are here.  For dessert we headed back down to Thames St. over to Kilwins for caramel apples and icecream.  I fell in love with this shop when I was a kid and had to introduce my son to it.  I think it's now a favorite of his as well.

After getting our sugar fix we headed over to the Pride of Baltimore II for a tour of the ship.

Everyone had to get their picture taken by the wheel, lol.

Since we were in touring spirit we headed over to the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse for another tour.

The lighthouse was in use for 133 years and when it was no longer needed it was moved to Baltimore.  It's free and open to the public.  It's such and unusual lighthouse it's definitely something that should be toured.

Next time we go we plan to go to The National Aquarium, tour the four ships in the harbor and see Ripley's Believe It or Not.

This is the USCGC Taney and is the last ship left floating in the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The USS Constellation was used in the Civil War, WWI, and was even recommissioned and used as a national symbol during WWII.

The National Aquarium and the USS Torsk just beyond the sea serpents.

The US Lightship Chesapeake which was used by the Coast Guard.

Ripley's Believe It or Not.  There was a Cheer Competition going on right outside the building so the crowds were really really thick.

Captain James, great restaurant, but make sure to make reservations it fills up quick.

We were all really sunburnt when we came home, but our temporary tattoos were still in tact.

We found the most important thing of all, Baltimore carries our favorite cheese, Tillamook.

So we bought a few pounds to squirrel away.

Here's to a vacation of no regrets!
