The More Possible Burger

I know everyone has a vegetarian burger recipe what makes mine different?  Honestly, I haven't seen anyone try to get the taste of Grillers and the softer texture of Impossible Burger.  Some of my ingredients may seem usual but it's much better than the commercial burger patties with all the fillers, gums, or preservatives

The More Possible Burger

3/4 cup of old-fashioned oatmeal

1 cup of beef flavored tvp

1 3/4 hot water

1 tbsp vegetarian beef flavored bouillon

1 tbsp unrefined coconut oil

1 tsp beet powder

1 tbsp brewer's yeast

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp mushroom soy sauce

1 tsp smoked Spanish paprika

1 large pinch red pepper flakes

1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

1 egg

2 tbsp vital wheat gluten flour

Start by soaking your oatmeal and tvp in hot water with the beef bouillon for about 15 to 20 minutes.  Basically when it's still warm but touchable.  Add the rest of the ingredients adding the egg and gluten flour last.  I add the egg last just encase it's still warm, I don't end up with scrambled eggs.  The gluten can become tough if it isn't added at the end.

My husband usually fries the burgers for 2-3 minutes on each side.  Honestly if you like them darker, fry them to your desired color.  They end up having a crisp outter crust and stay soft on the inside.  For me texture is just as important as taste.

Frequently asked questions

Will it taste like beets?  Nope, I actually hate the taste of beets.

Can I substitute the egg to make them Vegan?  I have tried both flax eggs and aquafaba they come out a little crumbly.

Can I leave out the gluten flour?  I have tried potato starch, corn starch and glutenous rice flour, the same issue with leaving the egg out they are very crumbly without it.

I can't find the ingredients at my local store, where can I find them?  I buy everything from Amazon except my eggs come from my tiny raptors, aka chickens.

Favorite burger toppings?  Chipotle mayo, habanero ketchup, onion jam, pepperoncini, kosher pickles, lettuce, tomato and cheese.
