Festivals Galore!

To start I found the a cute little desk while I was volunteering at Habitat For Humanity's store called Restore.  I think it will make a cute little vanity desk.  So far I have it sanded and the first layer of stain on it.  I will share more pictures as soon as it's done.

This weekend there were three main festivals going, The Philadelphia Science Festival, Rittenhouse Square's Spring Festival & South Street's Spring Festival.  We all started with The Science Festival that was right by The Franklin Institute.

There were lots of really cool booths.  I think this one by Boeing was our favorite though.

But Will and I weren't really in the mood for junk food so we left Jaiden at the science festival to check out Rittenhouse Square's Spring Festival.

The food looked really good, but the lines were so long and we figured it was taking 20 minutes to walk two blocks so we decided to head over to South Street's festival where we had heard from people in the crowd that it was a lot less crowded.

Another one of my favorite murals.

This festival was definitely better crowd wise.  We found the perfect place to eat on the corner of 2nd st and South St.  One of the stalls was selling six cheese truffle macaroni and cheese with braised short rib on top and some awesome raspberry cider.  Also walked by Xochitl, they had set up a small booth outside their restaurant and were serving up some amazing chicken tacos.  By the time we got back to Jaiden the science festival was starting to wrap up.  It was a really busy day, but really fun!

The area was encompassed in a bubble of warm, fragrant steam from the funnel cake deep fryers.  It smelled like sweet vanilla cake batter you licked off a spoon.
