Jaiden's Birthday & The Last Crumbs Cake
Jaiden and I talked about what he wanted to do for his birthday this year. Being in the middle of the week, he really didn't want to do a whole lot(really I think it's that he wanted to spend lots of time on his new video game). But the one thing that he wanted almost as much as a new phone was a cake from Crumbs. The problem was all of the bakeries shut down on the 8th of July. So I made a few phone calls and found out that BJs had a few ice cream cakes left in their freezer from the bakery. Even better they had Jaiden's favorite flavor Red Velvet Cake.
RIP CRUMBS
I'm not sure if it was fortunate or unfortunate, that this was the best ice cream cake we have ever had. The cake was cream cheese ice cream, topped with a perfectly moist red velvet cake. With some light and fluffy buttercream frosting. The little cubes on top were red velvet cake and white chocolate cake cubes. Drizzles with more white chocolate on top.
We added some of his favorite jelly beans. A few pizzas from his favorite pizza place. Watched a few movies with friends. Even though it was simple it was really fun!
The year you were born only marks your entry into the world. Other years where you prove your worth, they are the ones worth celebrating.
