Ginger Green Tea Stewed Pears with Raisins
With Autumn officially here, I'm happy to see pears on sale everywhere. This is one of my favorite light breakfasts this time of year. It's not just pears in a syrup. But more pears in a delicious tea-flavored pear cider that you drink while eating the pears.
Ginger Green Tea Stewed Pears with Raisins
2 tbsp Ghee or Butter
2 tsp ground cardamom
2 Anjou pears, cored and sliced
1 inch of ginger, peeled and grated
2 cups of hot water
2 tbsp raisins
1 green tea bag
maple syrup (optional)
Makes 2 servings
In a medium pot over medium heat, melt the ghee. Qqut 30 seconds. Add your pears and ginger, and fry for another minute. Add the water, raisins, and green tea bag. Simmer for 15 minutes. Drizzle with maple syrup if you think it needs it. Enjoy!
Slice a pear and you will find that its flesh is incandescent white. It glows with inner light.
